A Decade of Dedication: From Apprentice to Technical Expert
Born in 1991, Liu Zhaoyang began his career as an apprentice in the binding workshop of Liaoning Xinhua Printing. Driven by a deep passion for printing technology and a commitment to continuous learning, he quickly grew into an outstanding lead operator of a perfect binding line.
In 2020 and 2023, Liu participated in the 7th and 8th National Printing Industry Vocational Skills Competition Finals (Employee Category), held at the JMD headquarters in Shenzhen. Competing against nearly one hundred contestants from across the country, he stood out with exceptional technical expertise and won Second Prize in both competitions.
The national competition, jointly organized by the National Press and Publication Administration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and co-organized by JMD, is one of the most prestigious events in the printing industry. Winning awards twice in this competition reflects Liu’s relentless pursuit of technical excellence.
His progress did not stop there. Last year he also won Second Prize in the 11th “JMD Cup” Printing Skills Competition of the Nine Northern Provinces and Regions.
These honors mark his transformation from a young apprentice to a mature technical expert and showcase his continuous improvement in binding craftsmanship.

Tackling Challenges and Achieving New Breakthroughs on the JMD Platform
Liaoning Xinhua Printing operates three JMD Cambridge-12000 perfect binding lines. As the person in charge of one of these flagship machines, Liu Zhaoyang fully embodies a spirit of excellence. Through innovative working methods and meticulous machine adjustment, he has optimized production efficiency. By making use of lunch breaks to ensure “machines keep running even when operators rotate”, he leads his team in successfully completing the increasingly compressed production cycles required for the critical “textbooks delivered before class” mission.
His attitude toward quality is uncompromising. According to Liu:
“You’ll never hear me say ‘good enough’ or ‘almost.’ In our work, ‘almost’ can mean a thousand miles off. ‘Almost’ can leave hidden risks.”
This philosophy perfectly reflects JMD’s corporate culture of “Perseverance and Pursuit of Excellence.”
