Safeguarding Education in the Frontier: Xinjiang Xinhua’s Exploration in Intelligent Post-press
Xinjiang Xinhua Printing Co., Ltd., formerly established in 1938 as Xinjiang Printing Plant and restructured in July 1984 as Xinjiang Xinhua Printing Plant, is the oldest and largest state-owned comprehensive printing enterprise in Xinjiang. It is directly supervised by the Xinjiang Press and Publication Bureau and regulated by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission. The company undertakes over 50% of the region’s six-language textbook and Party/government document printing tasks. Through developing core technologies such as LED-UV rotary offset, it has driven green printing upgrades and was recognized as a national high-tech enterprise in 2024.
With growing demand for short-run, efficient, and multilingual printing, Xinjiang Xinhua has been actively exploring digitalization and intelligent transformation. As early as 2023, it introduced the JMD Digital FoldLine 180 high-speed folding & cutting line to enhance its intelligent digital post-press capabilities. Over the past two years, this line has run stably at over 180m/min, working seamlessly with Ricoh digital presses to establish a smooth, digitalized production flow from front-end printing to back-end folding and cutting. Its quick-changeover capability and user-friendly operation are particularly well-suited to Xinjiang’s multilingual, multi-category, short-run requirements. It has become a strong guarantee for tasks such as “books before class” and the printing of key publications.

Empowering a National Top 100 Printer: Anhui Xinhua’s Path to Intelligent Upgrading
Anhui Xinhua Printing Co., Ltd., founded in 1950, is a subsidiary controlled by Times Publishing & Media Co., Ltd. It is the largest state-owned comprehensive printing enterprise in Anhui Province and a leading nationwide book printing company. The company integrates textbooks, high-quality books, magazines, illustrated publications, themed publications, and digital printing into a full-industry-chain intelligent printing service provider. It has been listed among China’s Top 100 Printing Enterprises for many consecutive years.
In recent years, Anhui Xinhua has accelerated the empowerment of traditional printing by building a comprehensive interactive equipment matrix. This includes a digital prepress system (desktop systems, digital resources, CTP, etc.) and an information management system (ERP, MES, APS, digital resource library, CRM, etc.). Against this backdrop, Anhui Xinhua partnered with JMD to implement the Digital FoldLine 180 folding & cutting line together with the Digital Robot 2000C, creating an 880mm large-format “roll-to-book” full-line solution and establishing an intelligent digital post-press system. Running stably at speeds of over 180m/min, it not only ensures product quality but also greatly improves digital post-press binding efficiency. This enables Anhui Xinhua to handle short-run book orders in East China and surrounding regions with ease, while providing publishers with flexible “on-demand production, zero-inventory circulation” services to keep publishing workflows efficient and smooth.
