Seminar on Quality Improvement and Efficiency Enhancement for Book and Periodical Printing Enterprises Successfully Held in Hangzhou

The seminar focused on the profound transformations in the publishing industry amidst the digital age. It directly addressed the many challenges faced by book and periodical printing enterprises, such as "short production cycles, heavy workloads, high intensity, strict quality control, and high costs." Through management innovation, technological transformation, and industry chain collaboration, the seminar explored new paths for quality improvement and efficiency enhancement, aiming to drive industry innovation and meet new requirements in publishing and printing.

Wang Yi, Party Secretary, Chairman, and General Manager of Zhejiang Printing Group, in his opening speech, pointed out the main challenges faced by domestic book and periodical printing enterprises, particularly those in the "Xinhua system" during their transformation and upgrading process. These include rising quality demands, increasing investments, shorter production cycles, more pronounced seasonal fluctuations, and decreasing demand in the print publication market. To overcome these challenges and achieve high-quality development in the printing industry, enterprises must innovate, discover new opportunities, and stimulate new momentum. They must focus on quality, improve service quality, and adopt a customer-centric approach to drive the development of the book and periodical printing industry and inject continuous energy into high-quality development.

Before the seminar, the delegates visited the production sites of Zhejiang Printing Group and Hanghua Co., Ltd., where they showed great interest in the companies' recent achievements in digital and intelligent construction. They also watched a detailed demonstration of JMD’s fourth-generation high-speed, digital Newbridge perfect binding line and Hanghua Ink’s full-process solutions for single-sheet LED and web-fed LED printing. The Newbridge line, with an actual production speed of 13,000 books per hour, is a state-of-the-art, fully automated binding line that has been significantly upgraded for both intelligence and automation, ensuring stability while greatly improving production efficiency.

During the seminar, various reports were presented. Luo Ronghui, Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Printing Group, gave a presentation titled "Improving Efficiency through Technology, Embracing Innovation — Striving to Build a New Service Pattern for Publishing." Zheng Bin, Chairman of JMD, delivered a report on "Precision Post-Press Systems for the Future." Yang Ning from the China Academy of Printing Technology’s Industry Service Center presented on "Improving Print Enterprise Quality Control through C9 Evaluation." Shen Jianbin, Deputy General Manager of Hanghua Co., Ltd., presented "Leading with Green Technology, Creating the Future — Supporting High-Quality Development in Book and Periodical Printing."

The delegates engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as printing service assurance, digital transformation, and talent recruitment and training, offering valuable insights and suggestions for improving the quality and efficiency of the book and periodical printing industry and driving its high-quality development.
